The term “Walmartians” was coined on social media to highlight rare and unusual sightings at Walmart. Now Wealthy Walmartians are turning heads because shoppers with high incomes are not the norm at Walmart, budget-conscious shoppers are. The growing trend of well off Walmart shoppers was noticed last year even though the online options that lured them in were launched years ago.

Walmart began its convenience shopping in 2013 with curbside pickup at stores and then later launched home delivery service. They now offer Express Delivery in as little as 2 hours. Wealthy Walmartians are just like any other consumer. They want convenience and they don’t want to spend more on a product or service than they should. Inflation may have driven them to give Walmart a try, but they continued to shop at the store after realizing it wasn’t as bad as they thought.

If you have never seen them, the Walmartians social media posts can leave a bad impression of the store when it has a long history of offering everyday low prices on a wide variety of products and services including car repair, medical care, and pharmacy. Speaking of, Walmart rolled out coast-to-coast same-day pharmacydelivery in January of this year to offer more convenience and a way to help customers live better.

No matter your income, if you haven’t shopped at a Walmart location lately or tried one of its convenience services available through their website you should. Although the company won’t be immune to rising prices relating to the tariffs, CFO John Rainey says that they plan to be “nimble with sourcing to keep prices low for our members and customers”.
